South Carolina Brass Band

The South Carolina Brass Band was founded as a non profit organization in March of 2019 by Nicholas Fife.  The ensemble started as a lab group that would meet to play through repertoire and have fun.  In 2019 SCBB assembled at Winthrop University and Coker University, and had open rehearsals with the students there. Members of SCBB had a chamber music recital in Fort Mill before the pandemic struck. COVID 19 forced us to cancel our first public performance as a larger ensemble, but we remained active by recording a children's concert series remotely. This virtual concert series is available on our YouTube channel. On December 3rd of 2021 SCBB was able to finally have its first performance at Coker University.

In January of 2022 JD Shaw joined us as the Music Director, and Joel Collier joined as the Artistic Director. Since then SCBB has recruited enough members to become a traditional British style brass band. On May 5th 2022 we performed Brass Spectacular at Allen University.
